My happiness is slowly creeping back.

I see your shadow on the street now
I hear you push through the rusty gate
Click of your heels on the concrete
Waiting for a knock coming way too late
It seems an age since I've seen you
Countdown as the weeks trickle into days
So you come in and put your bags down
I know there's something in the air
How can I do this to you right now
You're over there when I need you here
My happiness is slowly creeping back
Now you're at home
If it ever starts sinking in
It must be when you pack up and go
It seems an age since I've seen you
Countdown as the weeks trickle into days
I hope that time hasn't changed you
All I really want is for you to stay
So you come in and put your bags down
I know there's something in the air
How can I do this to you right now
You're over there when I need you here
My happiness is slowly creeping back
Now you're at home
If it ever starts sinking in
It must be when you pack up and go
I know I know I know what is inside
I know I know I know what is inside
I know I know I know what is inside
I know I know I know what is inside
You're over there when I need you here
My happiness is slowly creeping back
Now you're at home
If it ever starts sinking in
It must be when you pack up and go
It must be when you pack up and go.

But life is getting better now.

Little things make me happy; seeing the Miss Dior Cherie ad was bittersweet but beautiful. I love how Sophia Coppola envisaged the day in the life of a Miss Dior- flouncing around prettily, nibbling on pastries and floating high above Paris in spectacular style.

And today we went to Dollars & Sense in Toowong- I found the most amazing printed tape for $2.50 a roll. My favourite is the gold with a girl flying with the aid of balloons in a wonderful dress (de ja vu!)

I like dressing like a Lola and then wearing something that turns me into a Lolita. I don't even care how that sounds- I was a beautiful baby that grew into a fairly ugly duckling. Now the idea of aging is repugnant: to appear forever young, pixie-ish and delicate is an aesthetic that I always have in mind.

  1. This is one of my favourite images too! I have it saved on my computer :) On my life to-do list is "Have a photoshoot with pretty mini dress and balloons"!

  2. Have you seen the ad? It's truly divine too!

  3. I think, perhaps, your eyes deceive you. You seem to have fabulous taste and insight into everything but yourself. You are no ugly duckling!
